A perfectly imperfect Florida beach cottage bungalow.
This 1,100 square-foot 1920's beach cottage on Casey Key in Sarasota Florida embodies the romantic shabby chic design and decor style. The owner, Susie Holt, has a shabby chic boutique called Posh in Venice, FL, and she is all about imperfection.
To capture the easy breezy beach look the beach cottage was kept in a white palette, complemented with soft pastels. "The shabby-chic look evolved because it’s romantic, and the old chipped painted wood and washable slipcovers are easy care." Susie said in an interview with a magazine. Further, "Vintage furniture can be beautifully refinished and repurposed into charming conversation pieces that save landfill space and are exclusively yours."
